CDS Group: new Board of Directors and new hub

Cds Group - a network specialized in transport and logistics services with headquarters in Bologna and hubs in Milan and Caserta - accelerates along the path of growth and development undertaken by renewing its governance in the name of continuity, but with a clear look to the future and to innovation.

The new Board of Directors

Leading the group made up of companies and entrepreneurs who have made the country's history in the transport sector is in fact now Enrico Cognigni, vice president of the Fermo-based Nuova Freccia dell'Adriatico and former vice president in the previous term of CDS. At his side are two new entries: the deputy Luca Ceccarelli, president of the Ceccarelli Group of Udine, and the managing director William Giovannini, president of the Cfp of Modena.

«The new board of directors – explains the new president – ​​will continue the activity of the previous governance, but with a renewed look to the future, with ever greater attention to the environment, energy saving and optimization of the services offered to affiliates. On the other hand, the network has precisely this function, that is to optimize transport costs between the various affiliated companies in Italy and in Europe, shortening distances and creating points of exchange».

A close-knit network

Gruppo CDS conta un'ottantina di affiliati, per la precisione 60 in Italia e 21 nel resto d'Europa, oltre 6 milioni di merci consegnate all'anno. Alle spalle il gruppo ha oltre 30 anni di attività e davanti a sé importanti prospettive di sviluppo. 

Luca Ceccarelli, nei vicepresidente: «Voglio ringraziare innanzitutto mio padre, Bernardino – racconta Luca Ceccarelli –, che mi ha coinvolto sin dal 2010 nelle riunioni con i primi soci a Bologna, ma anche il cda uscente che ha amministrato fino ad ora con sapienza e professionalità. Il nostro obiettivo – prosegue – è continuare a crescere, ad affiliare aziende “selezionate” sia in Italia, sia in Europa, continuando ad offrire una cultura del servizio dell'autotrasporto. Un mondo – conclude – che conosciamo bene visto che Cds è una società amministrata da aziende di trasporto che vivono quindi le stesse problematiche e necessità di chi lavora con noi e, come noi, fa questo mestiere».

The new hub at the Bologna Interport

Gruppo CDS rappresenta una "rete" di piccole e medie imprese, con una profonda conoscenza del loro territorio, in grado di offrire servizi flessibili e di alta qualità. Un'eccellenza che rappresenta una realtà in grado di competere con le grandi aziende logistiche internazionali. Per proseguire in questa strategia, il 25 fabbraio 2022 è stato inaugurato il nuovo ub nell'Interporto di Bologna.

La nuova piattaforma, non molto distante da quella attuale, rappresenta: "una nuova casa", come ha sottolineato Cognigni, "con 5 mila metri quadri di cross docking e il raddopiio delle baie di carico che passano ora a 56 permettendo così di ridurre notevolmente le attese e rendendo le operazioni molto più fluide e veloci".

In più, in ottica di ottimizzazione, i nuovi spazi potranno contare anche su una superficie dedicata agli uffici quasi triplicata rispetto alla precedente sede che si trovava sempre nell'interporto bolognese, con la presenza anche di una sala dedicata alla formazione interna per gli affiliati.

Looking to the future

«At a time like the one we are living in, marked by the increase in the cost of raw materials and energy – comments William Giovannini – without quality and certainty, you won't go anywhere. And it is precisely with this in mind - he anticipates - that we will improve the CDS hub in Naples, so as to improve traffic to Southern Italy, and we will enhance the one in Milan for the benefit of affiliates in the North West of the country. The phenomenon of reshoring, or rather the return to Italy or Europe of certain productions previously carried out overseas - he concludes - now requires us to enhance the services offered in this sense and our intention is precisely to move in this direction now".
